Posted by Fable Hobby on

Kalos travel guide

The name Kalos comes from the Greek Word  κάλλος which means beauty.  With sixteen cities and towns, the shaped like a five-point star Kalos region is home to the big city of Lumiose, a dazzling metrópolis of art and artifice, and a Pokémon League. Let’s dive in each one of those cities and towns, shall we?

Santalune City is located in the central part of the Kalos region and it is the hometown of the first Gym Leader, Viola. The stone-walled city features brick pathways interwoven between European-style homes and buildings, and the central plaza features a large, Roselia shaped stone fountain!

Lumiose City, nestled in the north-central part of the region, is a prominent central hub of the region and is the most populous city in the Pokémon world! Tourism is a major industry of the city due to its famous landmarks such as the Prism Tower, housing the Lumiose City Gym or the Lumiose Museum.

Cyllage City is a coastal destination located in western Kalos. Cyllage Gym’s leader is Grand and specializes in Rock-type Pokémon, located on the Hill, cut in the rock. Shalour City is also located in the western side of Kalos and it is the hometown of the Gym Leader Korrina. Reflection Cave and the Tower of Mastery are landmarks for fellow trainers.

Coumarine City is a port city hometown of the Gym Leader Ramos. You can stay at Hotel Coumarine when catching pokémons around this city. Laverre City sits at the base of an ancient tree which now houses the Laverre Gym, the official Gym of this City whose leader is Valerie and specializes in Fairy-type Pokémon. Anistar City is home of Anistar Gym, whose leader is Olympia and specializes in Psychic-type Pokémon. Don’t hesitate to come by to know some tips on how to train your beloved Psyduck!

We can keep the tour going on by stopping at Snowbelle City. If you’re into Ice-type Pokémon, don’t hesitate to pit stop at Snowbelle Gym: its leader Wulfric will tell you all about them. Last place is Kiloude City, located on the southern part of the Kalos region, it’s the smallest one around!

On the southeastern portion of the Kalos region, we can find Vaniville Town, Aquacorde Town and Geosenge Town. In the central part of the region, you can find Camphrier Town where Shabboneau Castle rises surrounded by a moat. You can stay at Hotel Camphrier and relax from the tireness task of training your beloved Pokémons. Kepp walking to visit Dendemille Town and Couriway Town, home to Hotel Couriway, a famous place for travelers to rest!

In the southwest portion of the Kalos region lays Ambrette Town, situated on the edge of a seaside Cliff with a narrow coastline. It is also the location of Kalos’s Fossil Lab, where fossils can be revived into Pokémon! You can also chill at the public Aquarium here or chill at Hotel Ambrette.

We hope you enjoyed this mini-tour around the Kalos region, home to First Partners Fennekin, Chespin and Froakie. We can’t say goodbye without throwing one question: which of these towns and cities would you visit first on a Pokémon trip? 😉
